Dear Parents,
Thank you for your interest in "Camp Cove"!
Our program is set up to provide children with supervised outdoor summer fun. As you read this information, you'll find that our priority is not only creating a safe environment, but to provide learning experiences along with physical activities.
Our qualified staff combined with our unique environment and resources right here at the club, allows for a truly fun filled summer experience. After reviewing this information, we invite you to call for an appointment to visit our facility and meet with our director.
Can my child attend? We accept ages 5 thru 13.
When does your camp operate?
The camp operates for 11 consecutive weeks throughout June, July and August. (The scheduled weeks for the current year are listed in the agreement form.)
What are your days and times of operation?
Day camp hours are 9:00a.m. to 4p.m. with extended hours to accommodate working adults. These hours are 7:00 to 9:00a.m. and 4:00 to 6:00p.m. (There is no additional charge for using extended hours.)
What if I only want my child to attend your camp part time?
You have two choices:
1) We offer half-day camp from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.
2) You can register your child on a daily basis. (Providing there is room in that week.)
Do I have to register for all 11 weeks?
No. You can register for as little as one week or as many as all ten. Please remember, if you are going to register one week at a time, attendance per week is limited.

What are some of the activities that you offer in your program?
We have a camp room for quiet hours, (7:00a.m. to 9p.m.) that accommodates games, puzzles and a variety of Disney and educational videos. Children who arrive early can use this room to relax and get ready for their day to begin. Once the camp gets underway at 9:00a.m., children will be divided into groups of ten and have a planned agenda. The activities will change every 45 minutes to an hour.
Those activities will include:
v Free Swim Time Nature Walks
v Swim Lessons Playground Time
v Volleyball Kick Ball
v Basketball Wiffle Ball
v Variety of field games Arts & Crafts
v Lunch Time Snack Time
v Special events and public services visit our park at different times throughout the year.
What about lunches, snacks and drinks?
Drinks Water and fruit drink are made available throughout the day for all the children.
Snacks We have a specific snack time made available each day. This will be supplied for an additional fee.
Lunches There are two ways to do lunch:
1) You may pack your child's lunch. This lunch cannot be refrigerated, so please pack as if it were a school lunch.
2) We have a set lunch menu at camp. On days that you elect to purchase a lunch, we suggest that you put the money in a sealed envelope with a note as to which menu selection you have made. Please give this directly to the director when you arrive.

If I am not sending lunch money, do I still need to send money?
Occasionally, (no more than once a week), we will have a catered lunch. When this is planned you will have plenty of notice. If you wish for your child to participate, then you'll send a specified amount of money. Otherwise, we recommend that you do not send your child with additional "spending money".
Are there items that we should not send with our child?
Do not send your child with GUM, CANDY (that melts) or jewelry.
What items do we need to send with our child?
You should pack a sweatshirt, sweatpants or jeans and some clean underwear in a bag at the beginning of each week. Some children may get chilly because of temperature changes or after swimming. These items can be stored in their private cubical. Also, a bathing suit and dry towel should be brought each day.
Is there any specific dress code for kids at camp?
When you register your child, he or she will receive (2) day camp T-shirts. Your child is required to wear (1) camp shirt every day. Shorts or jeans, (depending on the weather), is up to your discretion. Additional tank tops for swimming are supplied and cleaned by the camp.
Tennis shoes must be worn. Absolutely no thongs or other loose footwear.
What are some safety measures that you take while my child is in your care?
- Our camp staff is made up of mothers, school teachers and college students in the field of education or child psychology.
- No more than 10 children to a counselor.
- You must sign your child in and out of camp each day. Absolutely no one is permitted to pick up your child unless their name appears on your camp agreement form or a permission slip is handed by a parent to the director that morning. Anyone other than the parents of the child should have photo I.D. when they arrive to pick up your child.
- When any water activity is taking place, the children are in swim shirts, the counselors are at poolside and lifeguards are one duty. The swim shirts allow the counselors to focus on the entire group of children while the lifeguards are focusing on the entire pool. This represents a "double team" effect of
supervision while your children are in the water.
- Our counselors and director have radio communication between themselves, lifeguards and the office at all times.
What is the availability in your camp each week?
The limit to the amount of children each week will be determined the week prior. Once the counselors are scheduled for the following week, the limit will be determined on a 1 to 10 ratio.
Example: We would schedule 3 counselors for a week with 28 children registered. Therefore the limit to that week would be 30 children. |
